Joscelyn Gardner's work has been awarded an Honourable Mention at the 22 Máximo Ramos International Award for Graphic Arts 2012 Biennial in Ferrol, Spain. The exhibition opened on 27th July and runs until 6th October, 2012. The organizers stated that 450 dossiers had been received from artists in 49 countries. Following a preselection process from an electronic dossier, 90 participants were selected to send their work to Spain. The jury then met to select the work of 35 artists for the final exhibition and catalogue. The Grand Prize went to Pedro Calapez, while Honourable Mentions went to Manuel Eiris, Joscelyn Gardner, Charles F. Duplain, Alvaro Negro, and Liena Bondare.
The curator of 22 PMR 2012 is Anne Heyvaert (Facultad de Bellas Artes, Pontevedra, Universidad de Vigo / Spain). In her opening remarks she stated "the aim of this biennial award is to bear witness to the dynamism and plurality of the current graphic arts from the perspective of multiples and serial contemporary art". The call for participation was open to artists of any nationality and country of residence, and open to all graphic techniques, traditional or experimental, including digital techniques, with direct interventions and/or combined with any other procedures or installation. There were no size restrictions. Each participant was invited to submit from 2 to 6 pieces belonging to the same family or series, or only one complete serial work composed of several pieces.
